USA Rink Hockey is a team sport that enjoys significant popularity in a number of countries worldwide. Depending on territories, it is also known as Hóquei em Patins, Roller Hockey, Rollhockey, or Hardball Hockey. Roller Hockey was a demonstration roller sport in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Rink Hockey was recently referred to as Hardball Hockey in the United States until November 2008 when the United States Olympic Committee adopted the sport's more common name, Rink Hockey. World Championships are held annually for School Boys, Junior, Ladies and Senior Divisions along with intercontinental cup tournaments. The United States was divided into six Rink Hockey regions, North West , South West, North Central, South Central, North East and South East until recently. Now there are three regions: Western, Eastern, and Central divisions. Tournaments are frequently held across the United States and each year there is an "open" National Championship. A USA Roller Sports Sports Rink Hockey Card and a team entry are required to compete in National Championship Competition Divisions which include: Pee Wee, Midget, Freshman, Junior, Ladies, and Senior Bronze-Silver-Gold Divisions.

Holland Elkins - USA Roller Sports Rink Hockey Athlete of the Month for Feb. 2012

Holland Elkins




Holland Elkins of Bremerton, WA was apart of the Team USA Junior Men's Rink Hockey that competed in the 2011 FIRS CIRH Rink Hockey Sub-20 World Championship in Barcelos, Portugal.  He is a multi time USARS Rink Hockey National Champion, and has 2 time National Champion MVP.  Holland is currently a senior at Olympic High School, and currently skates for the Bremerton Hurricanes.
